In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we have established a policy to address claims of copyright infringement. This policy outlines the procedures for reporting alleged infringements and the steps we take to investigate such claims. We encourage copyright owners to familiarize themselves with these guidelines to ensure their rights are adequately protected.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been infringed upon through our website, you may submit a notification to us. This notification must include specific information to be considered valid under the DMCA. Please provide the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and its location on our website.
  • Your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate.

Response to Infringement Claims

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notification, Ohio Legal Templates will promptly investigate the claim. If we determine that the material in question infringes upon copyright, we will remove or disable access to the infringing content. We will also notify the user who posted the material, allowing them an opportunity to respond to the claim.

Counter-Notification

If you believe that your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. This counter-notification must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and its location prior to removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your contact information, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not provide notice that they have filed an action seeking a court order against the user, we may restore the removed material within 10 to 14 business days.
